Coming home from springbreak, I came home with the mindset of trying my best to get everything done(late or not) and it just hit me for my Great Expectations Creative Project that I don`t have the resources(no large blank white piece of paper... this of course was my fault as well as other things I can`t do an assignment if i don`t have the resources) and it appears my family doesn`t have very much time appearing very busy. However, an idea came to me I remember you saying in class that I could do a poem about Great Expectations but as the website shows it must be approved by you so i`m wondering what`re the requirements in other terms what do i have to do for you to accept the poem as a valid option for this assignment?

The essays that were turned in last week are between 3 and 4 pages. Just make sure you have three complete "two chunk" body paragraphs (10-11 sentences each.) The lengths of the introduction and conclusion are more flexible.
Read your intro all the way through and continue reading into your first body paragraph. If it has a good "flow" without a final sentence leading into your first body paragraph then you don't really need one. In other words, the lead into first body paragraph sentence is optional.
Tony - your content is strong. Go back and "clean up" or simplify the wording in each sentence. Think to yourself,"is there a more straight-forward way that I can say this?" Remember how you and I discussed this in class?

There isn't really a limit to the length. You should have 3-6 sentences in your introduction and conclusion paragraphs. Your body paragraphs will be 10 sentences each if they are "two chunk" paragraphs. You can have an extra "chunk" in each paragraph and have 14 sentences in that case.
You should refer to events in the novel in present tense (for example, Pip visits Miss Havisham at Satis House rather than Pip visited Miss Havisham.) If you're talking about your own experiences (which you probably aren't doing much of) you can use past tense if it applies. (For example, while reading Great Expectations I realized that money can't make you happy without having friends.)

ReplyDeleteI know this sounds sketchy, but my dad threw away most of my rough draft. Is it okay that i only have the beggining stuff to turn in?
ReplyDeleteIs it okay if my hook is longer than one sentence, but still short and simple? Also, can I have rhetorical questions that do not involve "you"?
